Detroit Community High School | Michele Schara Teaching Residency | 2015/2016
During the 2015/2016 school year, Lyz Luidens was one of the teaching artists participating in the Michele Schara Artist Residency at Detroit Community High School. During this residency, she worked with 2 art classes, teaching various printmaking techniques, using personal mapmaking as the prompt. The students made maps of their neighborhoods, maps of routes around their houses, around the city, around the school, and maps representing various specific memories. The students bound their prints into books at the end of the class, creating their own personal atlases.
